Terms of Service

Dead Pantry Chef helps you turn leftover ingredients and fridge photos into recipe suggestions. We also provide tools for saving recipes, tracking pantry items, building shopping lists, and estimating cook times. Some features require a free or paid account, and premium features are offered by subscription.

Recipes and nutrition estimates are generated with AI and are intended for inspiration only. They are not a substitute for professional dietary, medical, or food-safety advice. Always verify ingredients, allergens, and safe cooking temperatures yourself.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Dead Pantry Chef. By creating an account, you agree to provide accurate information and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.

Some parts of the app can be used without an account. In those cases, data such as your shopping list, saved recipes, and pantry items may be stored locally in your browser until you sign in or enable cloud sync.

Premium features are available through a subscription. When you subscribe, you agree to the pricing and billing terms shown at checkout. Subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel before the renewal date.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment, billing, tax, cancellation and refund mechanics are covered by Paddle's Buyer Terms.

You can cancel your subscription at any time from the Plans page or through Paddle. Cancellation stops future charges. Refunds are handled under our Refund Policy, which includes a 30-day money-back guarantee.

You keep ownership of any content you submit, such as ingredient lists, photos of your fridge, saved recipes, and pantry notes. By submitting content, you give us permission to use it to provide and improve the service — for example, to generate recipes, store your pantry, or display your saved items.

Do not upload content that violates someone else's rights, contains harmful or illegal material, or misrepresents ingredients in a way that could endanger health or safety.

You agree not to misuse the app. This includes, but is not limited to: attempting to break security, scraping recipe data, overloading our servers, reverse-engineering the service, using the app to generate harmful content, or interfering with other users.

Free recipe generation is limited per day. Creating multiple accounts to bypass limits is not allowed.

The Dead Pantry Chef name, logo, design, and software are owned by Dead Pantry Chef. You may not copy or reuse them without our permission. AI-generated recipes and images are provided for your personal use; we do not claim ownership of the recipes you create for your own kitchen.

The service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do our best to keep recipes accurate and helpful, but we cannot guarantee that every suggestion will be safe, complete, or suitable for your dietary needs. Always use your own judgment, especially with allergies, intolerances, and food safety.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dead Pantry Chef is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50 if you did not pay.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms or misuse the service. You may also delete your account at any time. When an account is deleted, we will remove associated data in line with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated terms in the app and update the effective date. Continuing to use the service after changes means you accept the new terms.
